How long do PVC boats last?
PVC boats are not quite as durable as Hypalon. That’s not to say PVC isn’t durable, though. Either kind of inflatable should last you well over 10 years. Expect a good 15 years from a top quality inflatable. How you care for and maintain your boat has a big effect on this. Remember, things like UV exposure and extreme temperatures can reduce lifespan considerably.

Cut a patch piece of plywood for the inside of the hull – it needs to be bigger than the hole and overlap onto the surrrounding ply by 25mm. The bigger bit goes inside the hull and hold it in place with plasterboard/drywall screws – they will pull it down against the hull. The smaller one fills the hole. Strip the paint off the problem area along the joins and remove the paint back to about 50mm either side of the crack.
