Restoration

Our philosophy since 1993 has been to keep rods as original as possible. Often someone presents a rod to us and requests a total refinish. In most cases, a little polishing of the varnish and some repairs to the wraps is all that’s necessary.

8' Payne

Many of you know, Payne rods are my favorites. I've worked on hundreds of them. Here is an example of an 8' 3-piece Model #200 Payne that came to me in bad shape... Note the red wraps, replacement guides, heavy red repair wraps, etc. By restoring it properly (and using the correct silks and guides), it now looks like an original Payne.

Straighten Bamboo Tip Section???

I never tried to straighten bamboo with steam and would like to hear from you before I try it. I obtained the rod blank with two tips and only one is warped. I have been told the tip section will become too limp if I use steam and another said it will work just fine.
