There should be a large nut a lockwasher a hook and srew to hold the hook in place. Remove everything from the shaft of the lock. put the shaft through the hole screw down the lockwasher and nut attach hoos in a position so it catches the lid when the key is in lock position. Super simple

Silicone spray lubricant. Our 2012 Tri-Glide also had the lower storage door lock fall out. The dealership replaced it under extended warranty. Don't suggest slamming the door, just push the latch and shut the door lightly, releasing the latch. Try to open the door by pulling to ensure it is shut.

I always lock the trunk on my 16 so i havent had it open yet,the only issue and it mat be petty is the cables,if not careful the one one the left will turn out and get stuck in the door and when opening they some times get hung up on the hinges and wont let the trunk open all the way.
