 · When we converted to gas, our chimney started to deteriorate and we discovered our high efficiency furnace didn't keep moisture from damaging the chimney. We had the top rebuilt, the rest repaired and a stainless steel liner put in. Problem solved. Thanks. I do have a liner. I think the builder was cutting cost by using cider blocks.
