It’s important that the wood be completely dry because if it’s wet, the epoxy won’t penetrate. Mix the epoxy and start injecting it into the small holes until it’s forced out of the areas exposed by the hole sawed sections. Keep injecting until all areas are saturated. Any rotted areas not saturated with the liquid epoxy will be weak and subject to cracking. You will have to use several syringes because as the mixed batch of epoxy starts to set, the syringe will be discarded and a new one used. The epoxy sets within an hour and starts to gel well before that so work quickly mixing small batches.
