An item called "Nanite Repair Paste" can be used to repair heat damage while in space. To do this, make sure you have some paste in your cargo hold, and then right-click on the damaged module button, and select "repair". Paste repairs take some time, enough time that they are generally applied between fights rather than during fights.

How do I repair items with nanite repair paste?

You can repair a bit at a time, by right-clicking on a repairing module and selecting Cancel Repair. In a very similar fashion to station repair costs, repairing higher meta level items or large/medium items will consume more paste. Neither of these skills are required to use nanite repair paste, they only make it more efficient.

When should I use the repair paste?

This is a one-time process, as the nanites use themselves up along with the trace elements mixed into their carrier fluid. The Repair Paste is generally only used for emergency on-site repairs. It is then recommended to have the damaged components looked at by a certified technician at first opportunity.

How much does the nanite interfacing skillbook cost?

Despite the high (5M ISK) cost of the Nanite Interfacing skillbook, it's worth considering that it's uncommon during an E-Uni roam to stay in one system long enough, for a repair to complete with zero skills.

What is overheating in EVE Online?

Overheating (or overloading) is an important ship combat mechanic in EVE Online. Any active module can be overheated, and overheating a module wrings better performance from it, at the cost of gradually-accumulating heat damage to the module. Incautious overheating can burn a module out completely, making it useless until it is repaired.

How many P1 inputs does Nanite Paste need?

1. Nanite Paste requires a total of 12 P1 Inputs, so that's a bare minimum of 12x Extraction -> P1 planets. The bottleneck in my chain (when I was doing paste) was always the Gel Matrix Biopaste, which requires 6x P1 inputs all on it's own. A CCU V P1-P3 Biopaste factory only has 3x P2-P3 factories, the other 18 being taken up by the P1-P2 process. ...

What inputs do Nanites use?

Data Chips use 4x P1 inputs, and manufactured using 4x P2-P3 factories, so you wind up with a surplus. Nanites use 2x P1 inputs and you'll crank these things out like no-one's business. I used to run the Biopaste and Data Chips factories and have a third planet wired up for Nanites.

Is JITA a universal price?

Jita price is a useful metric. But it's not the universal price that some people present it as, *especially* when it comes to raw materials that are bulky . This is because low-value-per-m3 high-bulk materials have a proportionally high cost of transport to market in Jita.

Is nanite paste good?

But all in all, no, nanite paste is not good. Look for other items that use PI mats and set up production for those. (Yeah, "blabla, it's not only used for nanite paste, hurr," **** you. If the item is **** there's no sense doing a factory setup that aims to support that item's production. Alter your setup.)

Controls

Overheating in action. All the high slots that can be overheated are being overheated, so the small button for overheating the whole rack in between the module buttons and the core HUD has lit up. Two of the four mid slot modules that can be overheated are being overheated, and heat damage is visible on all four mid slot modules.

Heat Damage

The downside of overheating is heat damage. Heat damage is not related to normal damage: overheating does not cause damage to your shield, armour, or hull hit points. Heat damage has no link to the Thermal damage type.

Overheating Bonuses

The skill that lets pilots overheat is Thermodynamics (3x, 4.5M ISK). Thermodynamics reduces the heat damage caused by overheating by 5% per skill level, for a 25% reduction at level V. This is a starting skill for characters created between September 2015 and September 2019.
